It is our absolute pleasure to announce that CUCA Chairman’s Dinner for Lent Term will be held in the Peers’ Dining Room at the House of Lords. Our event will be on the 16th of February, in the finest room in Parliament for our purpose, thanks to the kind permission of the House of Lords. Our shared evening of celebration in the Palace of Westminster will include a drinks reception, three courses of exceptionally good food, fine wine, and a superb opportunity to discover good company.
The reputation of banqueting at House of Lords is sublime: truly brilliant food, specially reserved wines, and surroundings in the heart of the mother of parliaments. We will be working our hardest to unite CUCA members from years ago with those of the present day. It is our hope that this evening at the House of Lords will be one of the best moments during our times at Cambridge.
All those who have left the Backs behind, who have stepped into the world, please feel exceptionally welcome to enjoy a night in London together with us. We are excited to enjoy the privilege of dining at a national monument, within the noblest sanctum of Britain’s history and politics.
For our friends, those close to us, and all with an interest, this dinner promises to be an occasion of special merit. This is the kind of event to which members should feel comfortable inviting family, even parents if they are remarkably brave, as well as anyone with an interest in experiencing a private event in the House of Lords at night.
There will be an after-dinner speaker, to be revealed closer to the event, whom all will be deeply delighted to hear speak. We are working to arrange a fiercely excellent “pres” and a fantastic "afters” — those at the Christ’s Chairman’s Dinner will fondly remember over sixty people going to both a private bar and then Lola Lo.
In summation, this is the capstone of much of our shared time together — the House of Lords will be an evening not to be forgot. The quality of the event will be excellent.
We are extremely fortunate because we have been able to hold the price of our tickets to £90 for members currently at Cambridge. This price, the same as our fantastic Chairman’s Dinner at Christ’s, is a truly brilliant chance to discover the House of Lords under the finest circumstances.
The price for alumni, which is also the tariff which all non-members shall pay, is set at £135 and represents an absolutely excellent opportunity to enjoy an evening of pure refinement at the heart of our national power.
Spaces for this event are limited and we expect tickets to soar out the door. We therefore, because of these unique circumstances, counsel securing a ticket immediately. Our event will begin at 7PM in the evening and security arrangements will be shared in due course.
